about

The session notes say "start of bowed springs sessions" although there's a lot more going on in these recordings, but very little in the way of synths compared to most Endgame sessions. The avant-classical meets industrial feel of much of it lent perfectly to sonic concrete manipulation, adding lots of depth to the sound, and expanding 55 minutes of material to 66 minutes! Here we have Xenakis with the attitude of Lightwave, Dumitrescu crossed with the essence of freeform Kosmische Krautrock. By the way, the use of Abtraction here is in the sense of "to make one thing out of another"

Expect references/dedications to Nurse With Wound, Krautrock, etc. Endgame were very busy on the session front for almost a decade, and continue to play live together occasionally. The archive is vast. ... more
